I found this article on the web linked with the following web: “Forum on Nations and Societies”
http://www.network54.com/Forum/115154?it=0
If you have access to this website, I would recommend that you do not argue with those anti-minority writers. The main reason is that someone (most likely Banzhu-the forum owner) changed my arguments just because I did not agree with them. This is probably not a place where freedom of speech prevails and different viewpoints can be exchanged.
The following article was written by 南乡子, a person originally from Guangxi who likely was working in Japan in the IT (Information Technology) industry at the time the article was first posted on July 6, 2001 (maybe he is working there). I think this article represents some Guangxi Han people’s perspective of China’s minority policies and the setup of a Zhuang Autonomous Region in Guangxi. Not very logically, the writer drew a general conclusion based on limited and atypical examples. In my opinion, this article had some points but was overall biased and subjective.
My purpose of posting this article here is to hope that we should realize how some of the Han people in Guangxi look at us. Accordingly, we would know how hard our task is and will be to tell the world about the truth of the Choong. Again, I do not recommend that you argue with the writer, because I don’ think that he represents the standpoint of the mainstream Han people in Guangxi. I believe that many Han people in Guangxi are nice. They have co-existed peacefully with the aboriginal peoples (mainly the Rao people) in this wonderland for generations. We are different but integral members of a big family. We are all People of Guangxi (Guangxi Ren). We share many common interests and customs. We want to see a strong and peaceful Guangxi and rich and well-educated Guangxi people.
If what I said here may have offended anyone (including 南乡子), please forgive me and do not attack me. If Banzhu thinks that my message is not appropriate here and decides to delete it, I am fine with that. I welcome honest and sincere discussion. Thanks.
